What does NC stand for?

NC stands for non conductive. This version is intended for installation in non-conductive enclosures, that is, enclosures made of plastic. For metal enclosures the standard M20 version is the right choice.

How else does NC differ from the standard version?

Electrically not at all: 25 A at 630 V AC, 0.5 to 2.5 mm², IP66 and IP68, M20 gland, maximum panel thickness 7 mm. The difference lies in the suitability for the enclosure material.

Which pole counts are available?

2+PE and 3+PE. Techno counts the protective earth as a pole and therefore designates these versions as 3-pole and 4-pole.

Description

Techno offers the M20 panel-mounted versions of the TH389U series in two variants. This page shows the NC version — short for non conductive. It is intended for installation in non-conductive enclosures, that is, plastic enclosures. Where the connector sits in a metal enclosure, the standard version is the right choice.

Electrically the two are identical: 25 A at 630 V AC, conductor cross-sections from 0.5 to 2.5 mm², stranded or solid.

Versions

Available as panel plug connector and panel socket connector, each with 2+PE and 3+PE poles, with M20 gland and mounting nut. Maximum panel thickness is 7 mm. Connection is by screw terminal at 0.8 Nm; strip 6 mm of conductor and 25 mm of sheath.

Protection and materials

Protection rating is IP66 and IP68, impact resistance IK08. The housing is glass-fibre reinforced PA66 to UL94 V0, the gland PA66 to UL94 V2, the contacts brass. The temperature range runs from −40 to +125 °C with a maximum operating temperature of +70 °C. Tested to EN 61535, with CE and UKCA marking. The seals are silicone.
