TH405 Kabelstecker weiblich 3 polig

The TH405 series is Techno's large circular connector — 38 mm outside diameter, rated for 17.5 A at 400 V AC with an impulse withstand voltage of 6 kV. Both halves sit on the cable; the panel-mount version of the same connection is our TH406.

Bayonet locking

Locking is by bayonet rather than a screw coupling — a quarter turn that audibly engages. That makes the series attractive where connections are broken and remade in the field and no tool is at hand.

Which half goes where?

This version combines the cable socket with pin contacts (Ø 38 × 80 mm) and the cable plug with socket contacts (Ø 38 × 75.7 mm). Mated, the connection measures Ø 38 × 141.2 mm. Techno offers the mirrored arrangement as the reversed-contact version.

Pole counts and contact marking

2, 3, 5, 6 and 8-pole versions are available. The protective earth counts as a pole: 2-pole is L-N, 3-pole L-N-E, 5-pole 1-2-L-N-E, 6-pole 1-2-3-L-N-E and 8-pole 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-E.

Termination

Conductors clamp with M3 screws at 0.8 Nm; cross-section runs from 0.5 to 1.5 mm², with up to 4 mm² permissible within the stated electrical ratings. Cable diameter is 7 to 13.5 mm and the gland nut is tightened to 2.5 Nm. The conductor is stripped to 6 mm, the sheath to 35 mm.

Protection and materials

Protection rating is IP66 and IP68. The plastic parts are black, the sealing elements Techno green, the contacts brass. For the North American market the rating is 20 A at 400 V AC/DC.
